Preschool 3s and 4s

Our days are filled with fun learning adventures!  On a typical day we will start the morning with Centers which are based on engaging rotating themes throughout the year such as, Farms, Apples, Christmas, Snow and Ice, Easter Community Helpers, Dr. Suess, Rainbows, and many more.  Learning abounds with theme-based learning toys and projects designed to introduce and reinforce learning opportunities such as color identification, early literacy, mathematical awareness, and fine motor skills.  Mrs. Schultze works one on one with each child, nurturing and helping each child along their own individual learning paths.  Our Catholic faith tradition is also foundational in everything we do during the day, from our daily preschool prayers to learning about the true meaning of Christmas, the Easter story, myriads of saints, and our service projects to help those who are less fortunate in line with Catholic social teachings.
We also have the great fortune of being able to participate with the talented specialists at OLL, including Music and Movement, PE, Social Emotional Learning and Art.  After our morning snack we are out to recess, always a high point of the day!  Once we are back in the classroom we have circle time, which always starts off with a story related to our theme, followed by the introduction of new concepts and skills, as well as theme-based learning.  The preschool always eats lunch together, which.is a fun time to socialize with our friends and also a chance to learn those all important table manners.  Our day ends with our friendship song and warm goodbyes, as one of my preschoolers said, "Every day is a good day in preschool!"
