STEM

6 - 8th Grade

STEM at OLL is centered on fostering curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through hands-on exploration and discovery.

Students engage in developmentally appropriate experiences that emphasize:

  • Asking questions and investigating real-world phenomena

  • Designing and testing creative engineering solutions

  • Scientific inquiry and evidence-based reasoning

  • Collaboration, communication, and innovation

  • Computational thinking and technology integration

  • Perseverance through problem-solving and productive struggle

Our STEM program intentionally creates opportunities for students to think like scientists and engineers as they explore the world around them. Through hands-on investigations, engineering design challenges, coding, and collaborative projects, students develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts while learning to apply their knowledge in meaningful and authentic ways.
