Kindergarten - 8th Grade
The Spanish program at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School focuses on building exposure to and appreciation for the Spanish language and culture while helping students develop confidence in communication and global awareness.
Students engage in interactive and age-appropriate learning experiences that emphasize:
- Conversational vocabulary and speaking skills
- Listening and comprehension
- Cultural traditions and celebrations
- Songs, movement, and collaborative activities
- Language confidence and curiosity
The goal of the program is not simply memorization, but helping students develop appreciation for language learning and cultural diversity while building communication skills that support future language study.
One of the highlights of the year is our annual Spanish Mass, where students serve as readers, prayer leaders, and participants entirely in Spanish, celebrating both faith and language through a meaningful community experience.
