Expanding Learning Beyond the Traditional Middle School Experience

At Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School, we believe middle school students thrive when they are given opportunities to explore their interests, discover new passions, and engage in creative, hands-on learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Our FLEX Electives Program is intentionally designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, strengthen student voice, and help students develop confidence in areas that extend beyond core academics. Elective offerings are intentionally diverse and designed to complement and extend the OLL curriculum while helping students discover areas of passion and possibility.

Whether students are analyzing strategy through chess, designing digital creations in graphic design, exploring animal science in zoology, building confidence through theater arts, or expressing creativity through writing and visual arts, FLEX electives provide meaningful opportunities for students to grow as learners and individuals.

The program also reflects OLL’s commitment to educating the whole child. FLEX electives encourage innovation, collaboration, communication, creativity, and joyful engagement in learning while helping students experience middle school as a time of exploration, connection, and personal growth.

At OLL, learning extends far beyond the traditional classroom, and the FLEX program is one of the many ways we help students discover who they are, what inspires them, and how their unique gifts can contribute to the world around them.
