Art
Preschool - 8th Grade
Art at OLL is exploratory, hands-on, and deeply rooted in creativity, curiosity, and self-expression.
Students are introduced to a wide variety of artistic techniques, materials, and mediums including:
- Drawing and painting
- Ceramics and sculpture
- Weaving and fiber arts
- Printmaking
- Mixed media and design
- Collaborative and process-based art experiences
Our art program encourages students to experiment, take creative risks, problem-solve, and develop confidence in their artistic voice.
Students also study diverse artists, artistic movements, and cultural perspectives from around the world. Through these experiences, students learn how art reflects history, identity, storytelling, culture, and social change while developing greater appreciation for the complexity and beauty of the world around them.
The addition of OLL’s kiln has expanded opportunities for ceramics and three-dimensional art experiences, allowing students to engage more deeply in authentic artistic processes and hands-on creation.
At OLL, art education helps cultivate creative thinkers, globally aware citizens, and students who understand the value of beauty, expression, and innovation.
