Where Tradition Meets Purpose

For more than 70 years, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School has stood as a cornerstone of Catholic education in Northeast Seattle, a place where faith, learning, and community come together to form generations of thoughtful, compassionate leaders.

Founded in 1949 with just six classrooms and an auditorium, the school was dedicated by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Thomas A. Connolly, and quickly became a beacon for families seeking both academic excellence and a strong moral foundation. As our community grew, so did our campus. A major expansion in 1957 added nine classrooms, and in the decades that followed, Our Lady of the Lake continued to evolve to meet the needs of Seattle’s growing North End.

Originally staffed by the Tacoma Dominican Sisters, OLL transitioned in the 1970s to an exceptional lay faculty who have carried forward the same spirit of faith and service. A Kindergarten was introduced in the mid-70s, Pre K in 2003, and a robust Preschool program in 2006, establishing OLL as a leader in early childhood education.

In 2013, the completion of our Events Center brought a state-of-the-art gymnasium and a revitalized multipurpose space, reflecting the deep generosity and commitment of our parish and school families. Continued community investment has sustained that momentum, including modernized facilities and renewed learning spaces that honor our past while preparing for the future.
